Mike Myers welcomes first baby
Mike Myers has become a dad for the first time at 48.
The Austin Powers star and his wife Kelly Tisdale have welcomed a son who they named Spike.
Mike's representative confirmed the arrival to People.com, and the couple are said to be "ecstatic" to have become parents.
A source revealed to Life And Style magazine the baby was born two weeks ago.
The Canadian actor is known to like to keep his private life under wraps. He and Kelly married in secret in New York last autumn after dating for four years, but managed to keep their big day a secret until March.
The couple began dating in 2006 after the Shrek star split up from his first wife, comedy writer and actress Robin Ruzan, following a 12-year marriage. They had no children.
It was recently reported Mike has signed up to star in Austin Powers 4.
The actor and comedian - who last appeared as the free-loving British spoof spy in Austin Powers 3: Goldmember in 2002 - has "closed a deal" to reprise the role, movie blog Hitfix.com reported.
Mike had a cameo as a British general in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds in 2009 and reprised the voice of Shrek in Shrek Forever After last year, but has not been seen starring in a live action film leading role since 2008 flop comedy The Love Guru.
There have been rumours of a Dr Evil spin-off movie in the past - Austin's nemisis also played by Mike - but this is the first confirmation of another Austin Powers instalment.
