MTV Generation Award for Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg is to be presented with the Generation Award at this year's MTV Movie Awards.
The 2 Guns star will pick up the event's top honour at the ceremony on April 13.
MTV president Stephen Friedman said the actor will be feted because he has "captivated" the audience for more than 20 years.
"Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern day Renaissance Man: from Dirk Diggler to The Departed, The Basketball Diaries to Ted, Entourage to The Fighter, in front of the camera and behind - he's done it all and he's always memorable," he said.
Mark, 42, will be given his gong by the cast of Entourage, the show he was executive producer on.
He follows in the footsteps of actors including Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Cruise, who have previously been given the trophy.
The MTV Movie Awards will be held on April 13 at the Nokia Theatre in LA, and will be hosted by US comedian and talk show host Conan O'Brien.
