Natalie Portman takes charity role
Natalie Portman has taken on a new role as ambassador for a children's charity.
The Oscar-winning Black Swan actress - who gave birth to son Aleph last year - will be working with Free The Children, which helps youngsters in developing countries, reports E! Online.
Natalie, 30, said in a statement: "As a mother and the organisation's newest ambassador, I am grateful to Free The Children for giving me the opportunity to channel my passion and love of children into meaningful action that furthers the education and leadership of young women for years to come."
The star, who is rumoured to have tied the knot with Aleph's dad, dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, added that she hopes others join her in supporting the cause.
