Nathan Massey thanks family for support after ex's pregnancy news

Nathan Massey has taken to Twitter to have his say about the pregnancy, but noticeably made no mention of his former love.

Nathan Massey has thanked his friends and family for their support following ex-girlfriend Cara de la Hoyde's pregnancy news.

The 24-year-old carpenter and Cara, 26, met on ITV2 show Love Island last year (16) and quickly fell in love. They won the programme and took home a £50,000 prize, waxing lyrical about their love for one another and their future together in various interviews after their victory.

While Cara and Nathan confirmed they had split up in April, the circus performer revealed that she is expecting a baby with her former beau in a new interview and photoshoot with OK! magazine.

Following the release of the magazine, Nathan took to Twitter on Monday to have his say about the pregnancy, but noticeably made no mention of his former love.

"Yes it's true..I'm going to be a Dad. It's an emotional time for me and I'm overwhelmed by all the support from both my family and friends," Nathan tweeted.

Cara also posted on her social media accounts following the OK! shoot, writing: "So glad that I can finally announce to you all that I'm going to be a Mummy thank-you for everyone's kind words and support (sic)."

The stunning brunette previously told the magazine that the baby news, which she found out about just two weeks before she and Nathan split, won't change anything in terms of the state of the former couple's relationship.

"It's a shame and a sad situation," she explained. "I know a lot of people will think, well you're going to have a baby together so just stay together - but we're not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple."
