TV presenter Nick Knowles is appealing for plasterers in Northern Ireland to help out on his BBC show DIY SOS: The Big Build.

The show is currently filming in Bangor and Mr Knowles took to social media after being left short-staffed.

"We desperately need help on our DIY SOS in Bangor, Northern Ireland," he wrote.

"We unexpectedly need plasterers today and tomorrow. We though people were coming but didn't show.

"Could any plasterers help us out? Spread the word and if you can help email amy.jones02@bbc.co.uk".

The show features Bangor man Mark Millar, a carpenter, who runs his own building firm in Bristol and is project manager on the popular DIY series.

He is one of the most recognised faces on the BBC One show alongside the team of Nick Knowles, Chris Frediani, Billy Byrne and Julian Perryman.

They completely rely on the support and generosity of the local community of tradespeople and suppliers to help transform the lives of truly deserving families.
