Nicola McLean unable to have any more children after health battle

Former glamour model Nicola McLean suffers with polycystic ovarian syndrome which causes painful cysts.

Nicola McLean can't have any more children as she needs to have her ovaries removed.

The mother-of-two, who has boys Rocky and Striker with husband Tom Williams, shared her sad news during an appearance on Loose Women on Monday (08May17).

Admitting she was shaking with nerves as she joined hosts Andrea McLean, Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Stacey Solomon, Nicola fought back tears as she spoke about her recent health issues.

"I really did want another one, I find (my boys are) so cute," she said, after Andrea explained how the blonde star suffers with polycystic ovarian syndrome and has been advised to have her ovaries removed. "I've had cysts on and off for years. Recently they were infected - I had a temperature of 41 degrees. They are coming back and they are getting bigger."

Nicole also revealed that she is now waiting to find out when she can undergo surgery. But in the meantime, she is having smear tests every three months or so.

"My smears never come back OK, there's always pre-cancerous cells," she sighed. "I just have really bad luck when it comes to women's problems; I think I have bad luck anyway. I need some good karma."

The 35-year-old former glamour model also opened up about her anxiety, which she said was reaching very high levels, and how she masks her problems by being feisty and loud.

Talking about her past problems with eating disorders, Nicole admitted she'd been suffering since she was a child.

"I remember the first time making myself sick was 11," she recalled. "The anxiety wasn't as bad, but you're a child, how do you know what anxiety is? I didn't know I had an eating disorder. I can't really remember (when it started) but I remember it getting really bad after my second son. And the eating disorder got bad too. And now the anxiety, I can hear it in my voice, is at an all time high for me."
