Nicole Scherzinger makes Cats debut
Nicole Scherzinger has made her debut in Cats under the watchful eye of Elaine Paige, who originated her role.
The former Pussycat Doll is playing Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's revival of the popular musical at the London Palladium, and Elaine, who was the first person to play the "Glamour cat" character, was in the audience to see Nicole's performance.
According to photos on the Daily Mail website, Elaine looked to be giving the former X Factor judge her seal of approval, with pictures showing them smiling with their arms around each other.
Elaine also tweeted a snap of herself with Nicole backstage, saying: "Saw @CatsMusical @NicoleScherzy You Pussycat Doll 'Let the memory live again'."
Nicole thanked fans for their support after making her West End debut.
"What a #schamazing #openingnight for #Cats! So grateful for everyone's love & belief and thank you for all my beautiful flowers! #dreamscometrue #nevergiveup #soblessed," she tweeted.
The revamped show, which previously ran for 21 years in the West End, was put together by the original creative team including director Sir Trevor Nunn.
