Nicole Scherzinger's X Factor relationship plan

Nicole Scherzinger is going to use her mother as her inspiration when she has her own children at some point in the future.

Nicole Scherzinger is hoping boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov will come and visit her when The X Factor live shows start later this year (16).

The 38-year-old singer has been dating tennis player Grigor, 25, since last year (15), and the pair appear to be happier than ever. It was recently announced that Nicole would be returning to the panel of The X Factor for this year's series, and will have to spend the majority of her time in London when the live shows begin. However, she is hopeful that Grigor will be able to find some time in his own busy schedule to come and visit her in the English capital.

"He's obviously busy as he's got his own career, but hopefully he'll come and visit me," she told The Sun on Sunday's Fabulous magazine. "We both travel a lot, but it's nice when we are able to make time (for each other). You appreciate it."

Prior to her relationship with Grigor, Nicole dated Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton. While she prefers not to discuss her former romance any more, Pussycat Dolls star Nicole did tell the publication that a career drive is something she considers important in a potential partner.

"It's good when you're both career-driven to have your own space to focus on your career and yourself," she said. "We have to be able to set love boundaries to keep our worth and our dignity. We too often allow things to happen and then find ourselves in a very vulnerable or weak place. I'm so happy - I'm proud of myself."

And it seems Nicole may have found 'The One' in Grigor. Asked if she is in love, she replied: "Yeah, I hope so. I'm a very loving person. We've been together for quite some time now, so I'm just living in the moment and I'm happy."

While Nicole is being kept busy with her various work commitments right now, she is hoping that at some point in the future, she will be able to turn her attention to starting a family.

And when she does have children, Nicole is looking no further than her own mother for parenting inspiration.

"In time, not now, I'll definitely have a family. God only knows when that time will be. But I do know that when I have my kids, I'm going to be like: 'Those are my kids,' and I'm going to be raising them how my mum raised me," she smiled.

"She is the greatest mum in the entire world. She had me when she was 18 and raised me on her own. She's the strongest and most selfless person, so hopefully I'll do her proud. She's my angel."
