No sequins when Oritse steps out

JLS singer Oritse Williams has revealed his list of outfit no-nos for new dance show Stepping Out.

The 26-year-old, who will be dancing with his girlfriend AJ Azari on the ITV show, admitted he won't be wearing sequins or clingy costumes.

"No sequins, no tight business and no flares. That situation is not happening for me," he said.

Oritse - who signed up for the show as a romantic surprise for AJ - said not having a professional dancer guide them on stage is nerve-racking, but he's looking forward to the challenge.

"For the first time in five or six years I've been without my boys on stage, so it's going to be a brand new experience for me. It's going to be exciting and different as I'm with my girlfriend AJ," he said.

"I'm used to have a microphone in front of me and singing. Just using my feet alone is going to be difficult, and we have four feet to deal with so it's going to be very complicated. This is a completely new experience - I haven't trained in dance at all - so this is going to be a huge challenge."

Oritse said the training has already made them stronger as a couple.

"We've had ups and downs through this whole process, but what we learn is we are stronger together. We love each other and that is what matters," he said.

Denise Welch, who is participating with husband Lincoln Townley, said: "I've got natural rhythm but we had to start from scratch. It's been hard."

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and wife Jackie, Brian McFadden and Vogue Williams, Dempsey and Makepeace stars Michael Brandon and Glynis Barber and boxing champion Carl Froch and partner Rachael Cordingley are also taking part in Stepping Out, which starts on August 31.
