Perry top winner at awards bash
Katy Perry was the big winner at the 2012 People's Choice Awards in the US - despite being absent as she faced up to her split from husband Russell Brand.
The singer-actress won the most gongs at the 38th annual fan-favourite extravaganza, and was honoured in five categories.
These included favourite female artist, tour headliner, song of the year for ET with Kanye West, music video for Last Friday Night and TV guest star for How I Met Your Mother.
Despite originally being touted by the show's organisers as among the nominees expected to attend, Katy told fans on Twitter earlier this week that she wouldn't make it to the show but that "I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!" It would have marked her first public appearance since British actor-comedian Russell filed for divorce after 14 months of marriage.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the final instalment of the magical film series starring Daniel Radcliffe, followed Katy with four wins for favourite movie, action movie, book adaptation and ensemble movie cast, but the film's stars were also absent from the ceremony.
Other winners in the 43 categories honouring TV, film and music included Ellen DeGeneres, Lea Michele and Demi Lovato.
"For all the Rachel Berrys out there, this one's for you guys," said Lea, who won as favourite comedy TV actress for her Glee role.
Emma Stone and Johnny Depp were named the favourite movie actress and actor. Among the TV winners were Neil Patrick Harris for TV comedy actor and Nathan Fillion for TV drama actor.
Winners in the movie categories included Bridesmaids for comedy movie and Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern for favourite superhero. Morgan Freeman was bestowed with the first-ever favourite movie icon award.
