Peru two drug mule Michaella McCollum has confirmed she has given birth to twins.
McCollum from Dungannon, 24, announced her pregnancy via her Instagram account in January. She has since also revealed she has given birth to twins via social media, but has not confirmed the sex of the newborns.
In a short video from her hospital bed, the new mum is seen holding the babies on her chest, with the caption: "My little darlings, 1 week today (sic)."
McCollum has not revealed the identity of the newborns' father.
McCollum and Scottish woman Melissa Reid were dubbed the Peru 2 after they made headlines in August 2013 when they were caught trying to smuggle 11kg of cocaine worth £1.5million out of Peru in 2013.
They were arrested as they attempted to smuggle the cocaine in their suitcases. They denied knowing the luggage contained drugs, claiming they had been kidnapped and forced to become drug runners.
They later came clean and were jailed for six years and eight months but were freed in 2016 after striking a deal with Peruvian authorities.
When McCollum announced the news of her pregnancy she wrote: "Wow had some crazy dreams...guest that's what happens when your dreaming for more than one."
