Piers Morgan 'quits' Good Morning Britain after show snaps up Love Island winners
Kem Cetinay had antagonised Piers Morgan after his and Amber Davies' presenting gig on Good Morning Britain was announced.
Piers Morgan has joked that he's "quit" Good Morning Britain after Love Island winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies landed a temporary presenting gig on the ITV show.
On Monday (31Jul17), Kem and Amber's roles as stand ins for regular showbiz shark Richard Arnold while he is on vacation at the end of August were revealed. Knowing Piers' hatred of all things Love Island, Kem poked fun at the presenter by sharing a snap of himself and Amber sitting behind the newsdesk on the show, writing alongside the image: "Have you heard the news @piersmorgan catch you at work very soon #seeyouinthecanteen."
Piers, who is currently on holiday, then responded to a story about Kem's quip, writing: "I quit".
The ever-opinionated journalist has never made a secret of his hatred of Love Island, taking aim at Kem's lack of grammatical skills previously after the hairdresser had said he and Amber "was at it like rabbits".
"I’m going to mention the grammar of Essex hairdresser Kem Creitn-ay who said 'we was at it like rabbits'," Piers ranted. "I can just about deal with the fact that you are very famous for having lots of sex under a blow-up turtle but I can’t handle you not speaking English properly.
"So if you're going to use the phrase 'at it like rabbits' you have to say 'we WERE at it like rabbits' not 'we was'."
As Kem and Amber announced their presenting gig on Good Morning Britain on Monday, the Romford-born star laughed: "So basically we're going to be taking our best mate Piers’ role on the show," before quickly adding, "I'm only joking!"
Kem then clarified: "End of August we're going to be bringing all the entertainment and showbiz to the show. We're going to be slotting in for Richard..."
