Punk band The Undertones to headline festival in Limavady

By Donna Deeney

The Undertones are set to headline this year's Stendhal Festival in Limavady.

The Londonderry band – famed for hits such as Teenage Kicks, My Perfect Cousin, Here Comes the Summer and Jimmy Jimmy – will take to the main stage on Saturday, August 9.

Tickets are now on sale for the festival, where indie rockers Frightened Rabbit will headline on August 8. The Glaswegian four-piece band's last album, Pedestrian Verse, was among the top 10 in the UK Album Charts in 2013.

Also lined up for the two-day festival at Ballymully Cottage Farm are Paddy Casey, The Happy Enchiladas, Bronagh Gallagher, Duke Special and Tucan.

Stendhal organiser Ross Parkhill said he is delighted with how this year's line-up is shaping up so far.

"Frightened Rabbit are a band we have been following for some time now and are incredibly excited to have them on the bill this year."

He added: "There is nothing I can really say about the Undertones that hasn't been said before. They are true musical royalty."
