The National Lampoon's Vacation actor made the comments after he attended an immigration hearing in Vancouver, British Columbia, to determine if he would be admissible as a refugee in Canada.
Quaid and his wife Evi were arrested in Vancouver last week and jailed on outstanding US warrants related to vandalism charges.
The Quaids are wanted in Santa Barbara, California, where they missed a court hearing last week.
Quaid and his wife appeared at their first immigration hearing last week and requested refugee status based on their belief that they were being persecuted by "Hollywood star whackers" and that their lives were in danger.
