Riley Keough avoids socialising in Hollywood circles
Actress Riley Keough credits her "stable and rational" husband Ben Smith-Petersen for keeping her grounded.
Riley Keough does her best to avoid hanging out in Hollywood circles.
As the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and granddaughter of the late Elvis Presley, the Logan Lucky actress is no stranger to show business.
But in spite of her familial connections, Riley insists that she isn't interested in boosting her profile at industry parties or events and instead prefers to spend time with her longtime friends, such as actress Dakota Johnson and her producing partner Gina Gammell.
"I'm not in any kind of Hollywood crowd," she told U.K. Elle magazine. "All my friends are kooks. I don't hang out with any nine-to-fivers who've got their s**t together."
Though she was often in the spotlight as a child, the 28-year-old explained that her mother Lisa and musician father Danny Keough did their best to give her a normal childhood. While Lisa moved around during her brief marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage, Riley appreciates the home life her mum gave her in London, Hawaii and Los Angeles.
"My mum is very androgynous – she hated bimbo girls. She put it in my head that that (behaviour) was rude and spoiled and bratty," the actress said.
Riley also credits her stuntman husband Ben Smith-Petersen for bringing a sense of normalcy to her life. The pair met on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road and married in 2015 after dating for three years.
"It's a rollercoaster for him. I'm a complete psycho and he's stable and rational," she shared of her beau.
