Party animal actor Russell Crowe is to take the role of fellow Australian Rupert Murdoch in a movie about the media mogul.
Crowe, 48, who is regarded as quite the hellraiser in the movie industry, will star in the flick which traces the story of Murdoch’s bid to become the owner of the British newspaper, The Times.
A source, reported in the Irish Daily Star, said: “You have to be brave to play someone like Murdoch. Russell can do it.”
Crowe won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Gladiator and has appeared in films including LA Confidential, A Beautiful Mind, American Gangster and Robin Hood.
