Ryder to join jungle celebrities
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are set for a bleeping nightmare after it was confirmed chart star Shaun Ryder will take part in this year's show.
The former Happy Mondays and Black Grape frontman will be among the stars who will Step On to the jungle camp for this year's series.
However, Shaun is known for his continual four-letter outbursts and is bound to cause producers a headache. His swearing famously prompted Channel 4 to pre-record editions of Chris Evans show TFI Friday when he let fly with his bad language.
A source confirmed he is among the line-up of contestants who have been flying to Australia this week ahead of the new series.
The singer was about to promote a new greatest hits album which is due for release next month.
The source said: "He thought long and hard about whether to do the show."
In 2004 I'm A Celebrity ran into problems with a swearing contestant when former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon used two expletives during a live slot. ITV apologised for the incident and regulator Ofcom took no further action, although his lapse prompted 88 complaints from viewers.
The rest of the cast for I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! - which returns on Sunday - was named by The Sun. The paper claimed Nigel Havers, Gail Porter, Britt Ekland and Olympic sprinter Linford Christie were in the line-up.
Also said to be taking part are Alison Hammond, ex-MP Lembit Opik, nutritionist Gillian McKeith and Stacey Solomon. Comic Dom Joly, Sheryl Gascoigne - former wife of ex-footballer Paul - and rapper Aggro Santos are also taking part, the paper says.
Bookmaker William Hill has installed Stacey as favourite to win at 5/2, followed by Gail Porter at 7/1.
