Scarlett Moffatt: 'I didn't realise how difficult TV was until I was on it!'

Scarlett Moffatt frequently gets advice from Ant and Dec for her hosting role on Saturday Night Takeaway.

Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt didn't realise how hard it would be to work in television.

The 26-year-old first found fame on the Channel 4 show, which sees people critiquing other TV programmes from the comfort of their sofa. While Scarlett earned herself millions of fans with her witty one liners on the series, and her time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, she admits she has learned so much since becoming a presenter on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

"Obviously it’s so much easier commenting on how other people are on TV. I’ve learnt a lot since then," Scarlett said. "It’s so weird because I watched an old Gogglebox back the other day and it doesn’t even feel like that’s me when I watch it back. I was like ‘why are you saying that?’ because now that I’m on TV I realise just how difficult it is.

"When you just watch it you don’t realise all the hours and work that goes into it. Even when I watched the jungle back, I’d think ‘it can’t be that bad’ and now I’ve done it I realise how difficult it can be."

Presenting is an entirely new ball game for Scarlett, but she has received positive feedback for her hosting on Saturday Night Takeaway. She previously revealed she was most excited about meeting Ant and Dec when it came to her time on I'm A Celebrity, but now considers the Geordie duo friends.

"I would say that we’re pals! They’re really helpful. They help me in every aspect, whether it’s just friendly banter or with work," she smiled.

The series finale of Saturday Night Takeaway is unlike any previous shows as it will be coming live from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The episode is a huge undertaking for both Ant and Dec, with the pair admitting they were feeling slightly nervous about the prospect.

"That's what we aim to do with this show every year - push the boundaries of what can be done," Ant said. "Walt Disney World also have a fantastic team and are incredibly well equipped and experienced at putting on big shows. It's going to be 27 degrees, humid and the whole show will be outside in the daytime, so it will certainly feel very different!"

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway comes live from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida with Virgin Holidays on Saturday 8th April at 7pm on ITV.
