Spice Girl Mel C to play Belfast Limelight show with Sink the Pink
Things are set to get Spicy in Belfast when pop megastar Melanie C and LGBTQ collective Sink The Pink stop by on their world tour.
Sink the Pink bill themselves as “an antidote to the soulless mega clubs,” with a mega show combing a wide range of music with theatre warning a reputation as one of the most outrageous stage shows on the go.
Mel C, meanwhile has sold millions of albums both with the 'Girl Power' juggernaut that is the Spice Girls and as a solo artist.
Sink The Pink-ringleader Glyn Fussell and Mel are long-time friends. Last year, the Spice Girl appeared with the group at the STP-co-founded festival and from their they vowed to work together again.
Mel is currently in rehearsals for the Spice Girls' hotly anticipated UK stadium tour and work on new solo material.
"This is a bit of dream come true for me," she said. "I’m going on tour with Sink the Pink, the most inclusive, fun and fabulous club night in London and we’re taking their best drag queens round the world, for a truly special show. I can’t wait."
Glyn added: “Melanie has been a long time supporter and friend of Sink The Pink and over the last few years we have created some of the most memorable moments in our history with her, with the standout being last year’s Mighty Hoopla performance. It's not every day a bunch of drag queens get to step out and tour the world with a Spice Girl.
"This tour shows how committed Melanie is to her LGBTQ fans and we are frankly shitting sequins we are so excited. World here we come."
The show stops at Belfast’s Limelight on Friday September 27, with tickets on sale from Thursday April 11 at www.jinjerevents.com
