Steven Spielberg has joined a select group including the Queen, JK Rowling and Sir David Attenborough as he becomes a gold Blue Peter badge owner.
The Oscar-winning film director said he had "always secretly privately wanted" the badge - the children's programme's highest accolade.
US-born Spielberg, whose films include The BFG, ET: The Extra-Terrestrial and Jurassic Park, said: "I'm going to wear it with pride. This is my first Blue Peter badge. And I've always secretly privately wanted one. But now I have one. So thank you." The badge recognised his talent, passion and pioneering work.
