Stars take part in Great North Run
Mel C, Harry Potter actor Matthew Lewis and Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton were among the stars who competed in the 2013 Great North Run.
Emmerdale actor Tony Audenshaw, DJ Jo Whiley and former footballer Robbie Savage also donned their trainers for the event, which is now in its 33rd year.
Mel C told the BBC: "It hasn't been the best of days weatherwise, but so many people have still turned out to support everyone and line the streets."
Jo added: "Everyone here has been just fantastic. I'll definitely be back."
Robbie said before the race: "I'm a bit nervous. I've had no training, the weather is a bit cold and windy and I'm worried about my hair getting wet. I didn't realise how big this run was. It's unbelievable."
Matthew, best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, previously revealed it was the first time he had done such a feat. He was running on behalf of the Leeds Rugby Foundation charity.
"I've been doing non-stop running for months, and the training has run me down. I've always been a sporty person, but I've never trained my body to do long-distance running. Running, in general, I dislike very much so to run for an extended period of time is not my idea of fun at all," he said.
"When they asked me to do it, I could barely run three miles. It took a long, long time for me to break through the plateau. And although I don't enjoy running while I'm doing it, it's an amazing feeling to finish."
The 24-year-old, who next stars in The Rise film with Luke Treadaway, joked: "I won't be running anywhere for a while. Walking is the plan for the next three months!"
