Streep: Gwyneth saved Thanksgiving
Meryl Streep has given thanks for Gwyneth Paltrow after the domestic guru saved her family's Thanksgiving meal.
The 65-year-old Oscar-winning actress revealed on US chat show Live With Kelly And Michael how her oven broke down over the American holiday. But Gwyneth - who has her own cookbook and shares her lifestyle advice on her Goop blog - came to the rescue.
Meryl declared her Thanksgiving this year a "disaster", explaining: "My oven didn't work. I hate my oven. I hate it. You never hate your oven more than on Thanksgiving Day when it won't cook the turkey."
The Into The Woods star said she was in New York City for the holiday and cooked her turkey for "about 11 hours", and it was still mostly inedible.
Host Michael Strahan said: "I would've knocked on my neighbour's door."
Meryl revealed: "I did! B ecause in my building is Gwyneth Paltrow. She has the best oven I've ever seen in my life."
And even though Gwyneth wasn't home, she got the doorman to let Meryl in to use her kitchen.
The Iron Lady star went on: "I went over and did all the sides in her oven and my brother was in charge of the turkey that would not cook. The sides were fantastic," she added.
And though Meryl insisted she didn't nose through Gwyneth's closets, she added: "I brought one of my daughters who was dying to."
