Sugar invites ladies to boardroom
Lord Sugar has appealed for more women to apply for the next series of The Apprentice.
The application for the ninth series of his BBC business challenge show closes on Sunday July 29 before auditions begin in August and so far producers have been swamped by male applicants.
Alan Sugar has tweeted: "Application still open for The Apprentice. Come on, ladies, show me what you can do, not just the blokes."
Jade Nash was the only woman to make it through to this year's final of The Apprentice, which was won by former wrestler Ricky Martin.
Inventor Tom Pellereau won the show in 2011.
Stella English was crowned the winner in 2010 but later quit and is now suing for constructive dismissal.
Aspiring apprentices can apply to compete to win a business partnership with Lord Sugar at apprentice.fremantlemedia.com.
