It's the date when young and old get to bring their favourite book characters to life.

Yesterday marked World Book Day and Belfast Telegraph readers were definitely getting in the literary spirit.

There were a dazzling array of costumes, with some very creative offerings - from Jack And The Beanstalk, complete with his very own cloud, to the Wicked Witch Of The East, complete with her very own house.

Another spectacular costume was worn by Bella McEvoy (6) from Moira as The Swan Princess.

Thanks to all our readers who took the time out to send us a picture.
