Titanic Belfast looking for Junior Explorers to join their team - here's how to apply

Titanic Belfast is on the lookout for its latest recruits – two child reviewers for the 2018/19 year of events.

As part of the site's Maritime May celebrations, two lucky winners will not only find gainful employment, but they'll also get to experience all Titanic Belfast has to offer for free for an entire year, along with their parents and siblings.

The new recruits will also be tasked with casting their eye over Titanic Belfast's child friendly offering to ensure it remains world-class.

Parents and siblings get to tag along to the world’s largest Titanic Experience too, which has now welcomed over 4.4 million visitors from all over the world.

Titanic Belfast are looking for a child who is:

  • inquisitive
  • enthusiast
  • over the age of 5 and under the age of 13 (as of June 2018)
  • has a nose for a story
  • has an interest in Belfast’s history, the sea or Titanic’s story

The lucky winners will get to review the experience, its family trail, meet its mascots, hop on board SS Nomadic, enjoy Afternoon Tea and be the first to experience its Magical Christmas Experience.

To enter, visit Titanic Belfast or  download the form from www.titanicbelfast.com, getting your child or you  (depending on age) to specify why they should be the Junior Explorer and return it by email to competitions@titanicbelfast.com or by post to Junior Explorer, Titanic Belfast, 1 Olympic Way, Queen’s Road, Belfast, BT39EP before 18th May 2018.

The winners will be announced just in time for their first assignment in June.

Titanic Belfast and SS Nomadic will also hosting Maritime May, celebrating Belfast’s maritime heritage, including:

  • May Day Bank Holiday Weekend (5th – 7th May)

Meet the mascots, join a period writing workshop and follow Titanic Belfast’s Explorer Trail, which enables children to experience the shipyard, walk the decks, travel to the depths of the ocean and uncover the true legend of Titanic and SS Nomadic.

  • Titanic Maritime Festival (19th – 20th May)

From a Big Titanic Pop-up Picnic, an artisan street food market to live music, games, interactive exhibits and roving performers along the new Maritime mile, Titanic Foundation and Titanic Belfast has lots planned.

  • BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend and Bank Holiday Fun (25th – 28th May)

  • Local History Month Trail (May)

For adults, there will also be local history trail throughout the month, which will help unearth unknown stories of Belfast’s maritime heritage.
