Tom Petty offers £48k reward for return of stolen guitars ahead of European tour
Rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are offering £48k for the return of their guitars which were stolen at an LA studio last week.
The stolen musical instruments are said to include Petty's 1967 12-string blonde Rickenbacker 360 and his 1965 Gibson SGTV Junior, as well as instruments belonging to bassist Ron Blair, rhythm guitar player Scott Thurston, and lead guitarist Mike Campbell.
"Sometimes people make mistakes, but we'd like these back ...no questions asked," said Petty on the reward.
The group are about to embark on a European tour with dates set for London and the Isle of Wight which will mark their first visit to the UK in over 20 years.
The band whose hits include ‘Free Fallin’, ‘I Won’t Back Down’ and ‘American Girl’ will also make their first UK festival appearance in June as part of the tour.
