Ulster Orchestra's lunchtime concerts back on the menu

By Staff Reporter

The Ulster Orchestra is preparing to restart its lunchtime concert series to allow veteran fans a bite-sized treat as well as hoping to attract some new ones.

This year's JTI Lunchtime Concert series kicks off today and there will be one each month at the Ulster Hall, nine in total, running until next May.

Tickets cost £7.50 and the concerts will last approximately 50 minutes - perfect to slot into the lunch hour. Each concert has been planned to feature a diverse range of music.

This season, the Orchestra will welcome Ten Square Hotel as its lunchtime concerts restaurant partner. Concert attendees can enjoy a 20% discount from the afternoon tea menu in the Linen Lounge, or on food from the a la carte menu in Jospers Restaurant upon presenting a lunchtime concert ticket of the same date of dining.

Michelle Baird, the Ulster Orchestra's director of marketing and communications, encouraged newcomers to sample a taste.

"Our lunchtime concerts series, which are generously supported by JTI, offer an ideal opportunity for anyone to hear the full orchestra in short, appealing performances," she said.

"As well as featuring some of the best international soloists and conductors, we also use these concerts to showcase our own fantastic players.

"The wealth of talent you will hear at a JTI Lunchtime Concert demonstrates why the Ulster Orchestra is one of the top symphony orchestras in the UK.

"If you have never heard an orchestra live, why not start with a bite-size concert to whet your appetite? You may come back for more!"
