US President Obama to see Game of Thrones season 6 before you do

'When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?'

By Claire Williamson

Game of Thrones season 6 is shrouded in secrecy - but what do you do when the President of the United States asks for advance episodes?

Well, it appears you send them and hope that no spoilers end up on Barack Obama's Twitter account.

The HBO series has a legion of fans who are counting down the days to the return of the series on April 24.

A plethora of stars from the show lined the red carpet in LA on Sunday night at the premiere of Season 6.

And reporters had one burning question for anyone they met - could they shed any light on the fate of Snow.

Long-standing character Jon Snow was brutally stabbed and left dying in the snow at the end of the fifth series.

But despite his death scene, actor Kit Harington has repeatedly found himself forced to quash all hope in rumours that Snow could actually be alive and ready for a comeback.

And it seems Barack Obama could find out his fate before any of us.

The two showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, revealed at the premiere that the President had been allowed a sneak peek at the series.

When asked if they had any moments where they think "‘Oh my god we totally made it’, they referenced the fact that President Barack Obama wanted advanced copies.

Weiss said: “I think, for both of us, finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an 'aha' moment. That was a very strange moment.”

“Yes,” Weiss added.

“He’s the leader of the free world.”

“When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?” Benioff added.
