George Clooney's upcoming wedding will close down a Venice walkway fronting the Grand Canal to keep the public out.
The Gravity star is set to wed human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in the Italian city, but prying eyes will be kept away from their big day by closing down a public path.
Venice city officials have issued an order closing walkways accessing the 16th Century Cavalli Palace for at least two hours on Monday, citing "the George Clooney wedding" as the reason for the shut down.
A city official said city police requested the closure to prevent crowds from gathering and creating a safety risk. The official said such closures have taken place previously for both public and private events.
The Cavalli Palace is used for civil marriage ceremonies, with rooms overlooking the Grand Canal and the famous Rialto Bridge.
