Vicky Pattison slams body shamers claiming she's a size 16

Vicky Pattison insists she trains hard and eats healthily to keep her weight off.

Vicky Pattison has hit out at "cruel" claims that she's put on weight and is now a size 16.

The reality star underwent a dramatic transformation after feeling discontent with her fuller figure back in 2013, going on a strict diet and following an extreme exercise regime which she turned into a bestselling DVD.

She continues to keep the weight off, so was quick to rubbish reports she had ballooned once again when a publication commented on the 29-year-old's body in reference to recent photos of her working out.

Posting a video of herself in Instagram wearing a skimpy red swimsuit, Vicky also wrote a long, detailed message to those criticising her physique, notably an "incorrect, cruel and vile article" in a weekly magazine that she felt was trying to "body shame" her.

"Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, mine happens to be a size 10 that I work hard to maintain- I've got boobs and a bum and I like it that way!" she wrote. "I train often and eat right so I can live my life the way I want to- filled with fun, the odd lion bar and more than a few gin and tonics! It seems that my honesty and openness about my weight journey wasn't good enough for some people though and they've chosen to use unflattering pics that look nothing like me and claim I'm a size 16!"

Insisting that isn't the case, Vicky went on to "applaud" women who do rock the dress size, though noted she is happy in her own skin.

Further describing the situation as "such a shame", the former Geordie Shore star encouraged women to love one another and champion all different shapes and sizes before sharing a heartfelt ending professing her love for her fans.

"And all you bitter mean and negative ones- I love you more, because it seems to me as though you may need it!" she ended.
