Tyre squeal and burning rubber is set to dominate the Belfast night sky this weekend, but all in the name of family fun and entertainment.

Fast & Furious Live burns into the SSE Arena this weekend with its ground-breaking spectacular show.

The show featuring awe-inspiring stunts inspired by the movie franchise as well as a host of cars that starred in the films as it stops off in the city as part of its worldwide tour.

And one of the stars of the show is Northern Ireland man Jonny Irwin.

Hailing from Fintona in Co Tyrone he started out life as a mechanic before turning heads on the competitive drifting circuit.

"I am super excited to be coming to my home city," said Jonny.

"Belfast doesn't know what's coming."

As well as a garage of some of the world's most stunning cars, the show also features pyrotechnics, tanks and submarines. It also has a 3D mapping feature projected from the ceiling which will take the audience all around the world and all under the roof of the SSE Arena. The audience even gets a chance to get up close and personal with the cars and the drivers after the show.

The show is planned to tour the world over the next five years and had a star-studded opening with Hollywood's Vin Diesel at London's O2 Arena in January.

"Our show it really, really different," Jonny added.

"The cars from the movie really make the show. They are really very special."

"There are lots of things going on, you name it we have and it's all live so you never know what to expect. A lot of people say they come not knowing what to expect and say they were blown away by the show."

Jonny applied for a job on the tour after encouragement from his wife and it was only after he sent the application off did he find out it was for the Fast & Furious live shows.

He was picked as one of 11 drivers for the show seeing off thousands who applied.

"It's a dream job," he added.

"I love the cars and I love talking about them and to be here and to do this is something special."

Fast & Furious Live rolls into Belfast's SSE Arena from Friday to Sunday. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster and the SSE.
