Wallace cooks up recipe for love
MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has told how he likes to read out Winnie The Pooh books in bed to his wife-to-be.
And the 50-year-old - who is to marry Anne-Marie Sterpini, who is 22 years his junior - said they found the recipe for love after she sought his culinary advice about rhubarb.
In an interview with Hello! magazine he explained how she sent him a message on Twitter to ask whether it could be served with duck.
Three-times-divorced Gregg said: "I just looked at Anna's photo and thought, 'Wow, she's pretty.
"So yes, rhubarb, which was considered an aphrodisiac in medieval times, brought us together."
Gregg, who took part in last year's Strictly Come Dancing, said many people have the wrong idea about him and he loves his domestic bliss.
"I've been portrayed as a womanising football hooligan, but I don't recognise that person. Now I like to go home, cook with Anna and read history books. I also read to her in bed. We're big fans of Winnie the Pooh."
He is also keen to start a family with her as soon as possible, joking: "I think she'll be pregnant by the time we return from honeymoon.
"Seriously, I'm looking forward to becoming a dad again. I've bought the complete collection of AA Milne and some rather cosy cardigans, so I'm ready."
He proposed to the 28-year-old - with whom he posed for the magazine - in a private dining room overlooking St Paul's Cathedral.
He said: "I told her we were meeting friends for dinner. As we walked in, the violinist struck up and I told her I loved her. We were both in tears as I went down on one knee and presented her with a platinum diamond solitaire ring and asked her to marry me. She said yes, thank God.
"I can't help thinking how lucky I am. I've never had anything or anyone like this before"
Anne-Marie, 28, said their age gap was "irrelevant" and added: "I don't see Gregg as being older. I don't even think about it."
