Watch: Joanne Salley sets pulses racing with shower trailer for film

By Staff Reporter

Former Miss Northern Ireland Joanne Salley (39) has set hearts racing after posting a teaser clip of a new art film she stars in.

The tantalising video opens with shower scene close-ups of the former beauty queen.

In the background of the clip Bizet's Toreador song from Carmen plays, but the enigmatic reference to a bullfighter offers little in the short trailer.

A split-second jump cut sees the Dungannon woman adopt a fierce haka-like stance - tongue jutting, arms spread - before cutting back to the racier shower scenes.

The trailer left Joanne's fans wanting more. "Gorgeous girl! It's officially been waaaaaay too long," said designer Sara O'Neill.

The mysterious film has been made by one of her former art pupils, Simon Fujiwara, (34) who is a recognised multidisciplinary conceptual artist. The video's titles read only "Joanne" and a date - October 7 2016.

In an message beside the video, Joanne simply states: "HERE IT IS! The first teaser for my film by @simonfujiwaraofficial a portrait by my former art student. Follow my story!" It is accompanied by a torrent of hashtags, including "woman", "complex", "identity" and "chameleon".

A photograph in a tweet that appears to be linked to the planning of the video shows copies of Elle UK and Vogue fashion magazine on a table with a notepad titled "Joanne", several cups of coffee and a bowl containing what looks like cereal.

Born in Harrow, where Joanne once taught at the Harrow Boy's School, Fujiwara has exhibited at the prestigious international Venice Biennale.

Joanne, a former model and trained ballet dancer, was crowned Miss Northern Ireland in 1998 and was subsequently runner-up in the Miss UK pageant.

In 2011, while working as a art teacher at Harrow, the former Dungannon Royal School pupil hit the headlines after topless photos of her taken by a colleague were circulated.
