Watch: Nathan Carter performs impromptu Cork hotel gig amid Storm Ophelia

Nathan Carter found himself seeking shelter from Storm Ophelia at a Cork hotel on Monday - and decided to perform a few tunes to help keep spirits up among the guests.

The country singer was staying at the Montenotte Hotel in th city following his performance at the Cork Opera House on Sunday night.

He decided to wait out the storm the following day as opposed to travelling through the ex-hurricane.

So rather than grumble about the weather, Nathan sat at the hotel's piano and played a few tunes for the guests with the help of a girl playing the guitar.

Videos posted on social media show the star singing American Pie and I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane, while the rain and wind battered against the windows.

The hotel's General Manager said on Twitter: "We might not have any power @MontenotteH but we do have the amazing @iamNATHANCARTER to get us through #ophelia."

Well if you're going to be stuck in a storm, who better to sing you a few tunes than Nathan Carter?
