Watch: Phillip and Holly left red faced after calling wrong person during cash competition on This Morning

This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were left a little red faced live on air when they called the wrong person to tell them they had won their cash competition.

With reporter Alison Hammond about to knock on the front door of the actual winner of the £1000 prize, the presenters were tasked with calling them to reveal the good news.

Unfortunately, they were given the wrong telephone number, leading to a very confused conversation during the morning show.

While Alison was knocking on a Mrs Ashman's door, Phillip and Holly were calling a lady called Eva Smithers.

After explaining her name wasn't Mrs Ashman, Phillip asked Eva: "Is there someone walking up your path?"

When she replied no, he asked: "Is there someone knocking on your door?" as Alison could be seen knocking on the mystery door.

Eva again replied: "No."

When the actual Mrs Ashman opened her door to Alison, Phillip and Holly had to explain what had happened to Eva, before quickly hanging up on her.

The pair called Eva later on in the show to tell her she would be receiving £1000 for Christmas simply because they had called her by mistake.
