Will Smith joins James Corden in Carpool Karaoke series premiere
Actor and rapper Will Smith was the first celebrity to join James Corden for Carpool Karaoke: The Series.
The popular segment from Corden's The Late, Late Show released its first episode in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air star joined the UK presenter as they drove around Los Angeles while listening and singing to Smith's back catalogue.
During the episode Smith revealed that he only pretended to recognise Corden during their first meeting.
Corden said he felt he could count Smith among his fans after their first encounter at an awards ceremony, but the Hollywood star said it had been a sham.
Smith, 48, said: "It was the first time we met. We talked and it was, 'Ah man you know it's great, I love what you do'... we did all of that.
"I didn't really know you then. I had to look you up after."
Corden, laughing, said: "I remember it so clearly. I think I even text a friend of mine and I was like, 'Dude, Will Smith is so into me - it's incredible'."
The episode saw the pair take to the air in a helicopter before Smith supposedly abandoned Corden on top of the US Bank skyscraper in Los Angeles.
They also rapped along to Smith's musical hits, including The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme and Gettin' Jiggy Wit It.
Smith mocked Corden, 38, after the Briton said he had a "rap troupe" at school, and his pseudonym was "Chub Nasty".
Corden is an executive producer on the show and will appear in some of the episodes.
Miley Cyrus, John Legend and Ariana Grande are among the stars who will feature in the online show.
