Windsor nervous about EastEnders
Barbara Windsor has confessed she is nervous about returning to EastEnders.
The 75-year-old actress, who played Peggy Mitchell for 16 years, will make her comeback in Albert Square three years after viewers last saw her.
Barbara revealed at a special performance of West End show Spamalot: "I've got one episode and I'm looking forward to it. I'm very apprehensive and nervous because it's been three years since I've done it."
The reason for Peggy's return is top secret but the actress revealed: "It's important that I go back. That's the reason I'm doing it - it's relevant to the plot, let's put it like that."
Her return will come at a dramatic time for the Mitchell clan, with Samantha Womack reprising her role as Ronnie Mitchell and sister Roxy planning her wedding to Alfie Moon. Peggy's son Phil will be seen in trouble once again.
And Perry Fenwick, who plays Billy Mitchell, revealed he has filmed scenes with Babs as part of her return
He said: "We filmed the scenes two days ago, and there was a definite shift in the air, with the crew, the make-up people, everyone, it was like the Queen's come back.
"It was lovely working with her. She immediately tore up the script she was given and me and her improvised and she went, 'You're alright with that 'int you darlin'?!'
"She's a legend."
