World-class acts revealed for Belfast Arts Festival

By Staff Reporter

Soul, swing and symphony will be onstage in this year's Belfast Arts Festival.

While the full programme is still being finalised, organisers have released details of three world-class acts already confirmed for the October festival.

Soul sensation and singer-songwriter Paul Carrack will hit the stage at the Grand Opera House on Saturday, October 21.

The festival will also see the Irish Premiere of Celui Qui Tombe (He Who Falls) presented by Compagnie Yoann Bourgeois.

The circus-influenced spectacle swings into action at the Grand Opera House on October 19 and 20.

The Ulster Hall will host Russia's famous Mariinsky Orchestra on October 11.

Conducted by Valery Gergiev, the orchestra will perform an all-Russian programme climaxing with Shostakovich's epic Symphony No 11.
