The One Show's Matt and Alex bid farewell to Northern Ireland with Causeway stop

The One Show presenters Matt Baker and Alex Jones reached the Giant's Causeway on the final stop of their journey in Northern Ireland.

The popular BBC magazine show spent the week in Co Antrim as part of its Big Causeway Crawl to showcase towns and villages along the Causeway Coast.

On Friday the presenting duo were joined by comedian David O'Doherty.

They began the week in Carrickfergus before taking in the atmosphere at Cushendall's annual food festival.

They also visited Ballycastle and Portrush before reaching the Giant's Causeway.

It’s estimated more than four million viewers across the UK saw the programmes.

"We been on some road trips," Matt said earlier this week. "California eat your heart out."

"It's some of the best scenery I've ever experienced," added Alex. "Seriously, if you want to book a holiday, the Antrim coast is perfect."

Tourism Ireland said that it was "delighted" with the attention The One Show brought to the province.
