When somebody's watching you...

By Grania McFadden

Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast, August 2-7, 8pm

Anita is a middle-aged woman with a problem. She’s being stalked by 17-year-old Davy. They’ve never even met, but Anita has been forced to flee her home, because she shares a secret with Davy — the secret of Vincent River.

Prime Cut has been promoting its new show in a masterly fashion — the Facebook community has been invited to befriend Vincent, who’s been keeping them informed of his whereabouts in regular postings. Now audiences can find out the truth about Vincent when Philip Ridley’s thriller — described as one of the most gripping plays of the 20th century — opens in Belfast. Anita is played by Eleanor Methven and Kerr Logan is Davy in this version by Sophie Motley.

As the characters swap secrets about Vincent, someone they both loved and neither really knew, they move closer to the play’s sadistic centre.

See 028 9024 2338 for details.

The play is also touring to Strabane, Armagh and Derry from August 26-28.
