The Belfast Telegraph is delighted to announce that its IT Awards are returning for a third year, with Telefonica Tech UK and Ireland once again the overall sponsor.
A ceremony will be held on November 11 at the Mac Theatre in Belfast and is to be hosted by comedian Neil Delamere. Categories will also soon be open for entry.
The event was first held in 2019. It was postponed in 2020 but returned last year.
The IT sector in Northern Ireland has been growing at a remarkable pace and continues to have a significant and positive impact on the economy.
The digital ICT sector is estimated to employ 30,000 people in positions that pay above the national average.
The Belfast Telegraph IT Awards were created in recognition of the growing importance of the sector, and entries have increased significantly since its first year.
In November, the judging panel will be chaired by Noel Brady, ICT industry specialist and managing director of Nb1.
Peter Russell, managing director of Telefonica Tech UK and Ireland, said: “The awards have become a firm fixture in the IT industry’s calendar and it’s brilliant to announce the date for this year’s event.
“So many people in the sector will be looking forward to celebrating and showcasing their work through the awards and to enjoy what is a fun and really inspiring night in November.
“Telefonica Tech UK and Ireland is delighted to once again be the title sponsor for 2022.
“As an established business in Northern Ireland now operating under a leading global brand, partnering with the Belfast Telegraph IT Awards is a great way for us to reinforce our brand and our exciting vision in the local market.”
Belfast Telegraph business editor Margaret Canning said: “We are thrilled to name the date for our 2022 IT Awards, and honoured that Telefonica Tech UK and Ireland is again our overall sponsor for the event.
“We expect this year’s awards to be bigger and better than ever, and look forward to opening up to entries from our brightest and best IT talent in due course.”
