Harry Corry celebrates 50 years by sponsoring Best Interior Design Award

By Stephanie Bell

This year saw family-run interiors chain Harry Corry celebrate 50 years in business by saying a huge thank you to its many loyal customers.

The company, which started life as a market stall in Belfast set up by Harry Corry in 1948, now has 50 stores across Ireland and Scotland.

Today the company is managed by Mr Corry's two sons, John and William Corry, and his daughter, Anne Hill.

And as it marks half a century in business, founder Harry Corry's grandson, Mark, who is marketing manager, said the firm was delighted to announce sponsorship of The Best Interior Design of the Year category in this year's Belfast Telegraph Property Awards.

"Being a local family business we wouldn't be here without the property sector so we are delighted to be part of this huge event for the property industry," he said.

"We've also said thanks to our customers this year by offering 50% off selected items throughout June, July and August in what was our biggest ever sale.

"The company started with my grandfather opening a stall in the markets in Belfast and he always looked after people and his staff and that ethos has been passed down through the family."

The firm employs over 700 people across its 50 stores. It prides itself on its extensive and high-quality range of products, always offered at value for money prices.

Initially specialising in curtains and bedding, the company has expanded in recent years to include homeware accessories and a new furniture range.

"We've never been beaten on price and we offer good quality products. Our aim is to give people the chance to buy everything they need for their home under one roof," Mark Corry added.
