By Stephanie Bell

The Belfast Telegraph Property Awards for 2018 have been launched and this year promise to be bigger and better.

We are delighted to welcome Electric Ireland on board as the main sponsor for the 2018 event and also announce the launch of three new categories, making a record 14 in total.

Every aspect of the property industry will once again be celebrated and the new awards reflect this ever-changing and evolving market place.

They include: Best Property Marketing of the Year sponsored by Barrett Signs; Innovative Use of Smarthome Technology sponsored by Openreach, and Best Property Management Company.

Electric Ireland, partner of this year's Belfast Telegraph Property Awards, has been providing smart energy solutions for businesses in Northern Ireland for the last two decades and since moving into the residential sector in 2015, the company has a growing customer base of more than 80,000 residential customers.

Clare McAllister, sales and marketing manager of Electric Ireland, said: "With our innovation, expert market intelligence and the insights from our team, we are committed to providing real, valuable support to both our business and residential customers across Northern Ireland, providing them with the most relevant, affordable and tailor-made energy solutions.

"Our partnership with the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2018 aims to continue this support in the wider business community, celebrating the success of those who contribute to a flourishing and successful property sector."

And the property sector in full is well represented at our gala event, which offers the chance for agencies, developers, architects, designers and contractors to showcase their outstanding work at a glittering ceremony, to be held on November 16 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belfast.

A two-course lunch followed by entertainment will again be hosted by TV personality Pamela Ballantine.

Our judging panel, drawn from leading professional bodies within the industry, will again be chaired by Professor Alastair Adair, deputy vice chancellor of the University of Ulster.

Entries are now open, with nominations invited in 14 categories chosen to encompass every aspect of the property sector.

Commercial categories include: The Commercial Estate Agency of the Year, sponsored by A&L Goodbody; Commercial Development of the Year, sponsored by Carson McDowell; Architectural Practice of the Year (Commercial), sponsored by Savills and Commercial Fit-Out of the Year.

In the residential sector, we have Residential Estate Agency of the Year, sponsored by Progressive Building Society; Residential Lettings Agency of the Year, sponsored by TLT; Residential Development of the Year, sponsored by First Trust Bank and Architectural Practice of the Year (Residential), also sponsored by Savills.
