Belfast boxer Michael Conlan has been named Sports Star of the Year at the 2015 Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards.

The amateur boxer collected the prestigious prize on Monday night at the gala awards ceremony, sponsored by Linwoods, at the Ramada Plaza hotel in front of a star studded audience.

The Northern Ireland football team enjoyed treble glory with the players and manager Michael O'Neill rewarded for their outstanding success.

The prestigious event saw the great and good from Northern Ireland sport gather together with a whole host of trophies handed out to individuals, teams and legendary figures.

The awards, now in their 21st year, honours top sporting achievers both in the amateur and professional ranks and pay tribute to the country's unsung sporting heroes.

Linwoods are the title sponsors of the Awards and the category sponsors are Sport NI, Big Lottery Fund, Ramada Plaza hotel, the Northern Ireland Sports Forum, Volvo, Subway, Belleek Living and The Outlet.

Popular television personalities Jackie Fullerton and Claire McCollum presented the glittering ceremony celebrating sport at elite and grassroots level.
