THE Silver Fox, Jackie Fullerton, is about to prove there is life after the final whistle.

THE Silver Fox, Jackie Fullerton, is about to prove there is life after the final whistle.

The man whose sporting career has taken him to the commentary box at several international soccer grounds is to hit the right note again - as a singer.

Fullerton, who in the 60s was a flying winger with Ballymena United in the Irish League and is now a BBC sports reporter, will be dressing up in black tie and tails to sing the hits of Perry Como and Dean Martin at the Waterfront Hall.

He will be one of the star attractions in Fifties Songbook hosted by George Jones of Radio Ulster tomorrow, Friday and Saturday nights.

Jones said. "He was such a hit as a crooner last year I couldn't leave him out. Jackie carries the nickname The Silver Fox well. He's a real trooper and deserves his standing ovations."

Fullerton said: "I was a wee bit nervous on stage last November. This time I can't wait."

Also on the bill will be the Galaxy Orchestra directed by Crawford Bell, Trevor Kelly, Leon, Gary Gibson, Kenny McDowell and Muriel Day. Tickets are available on 9033 4455.
