GAA: Ulster players take their places in All Star line-up

TWELVE Ulster players have been nominated for All Star awards _ but only one player from the province is included among the hurling nominees.

Not surprisingly, Cavan names dominate in UlsterÕs football representation but the omission of their outstanding centre-half back Bernard Morris is certain to cause more than a few raised eyebrows.

FermanaghÕs Raymond Gallagher deservedly finds himself ranked among the elite while Derry have three players _ Anthony Tohill, Joe Brolly and Joe Cassidy _ included among those in the running for awards.

The communication company Eircel, who stepped into the breach following PowerscreenÕs withdrawal as sponsors, are underwriting this yearÕs scheme and the awards will be presented at a gala banquet in Dublin early next month.
