£250,000 update at UTV studios

UTV has announced it is to invest £250,000 in its Belfast studios and post production facilities this summer.

The Ormeau Road station's Studio One is being revamped to house its news and current affairs programmes, UTV Live and Insight, as well as a new late night current affairs series, due to launch in the autumn.

Studio Two will now host the set for entertainment series Gerry Meets.

Both studios are to be served by a new state of the art control room while post production facilities are to be enhanced with the introduction of the latest high tech editing systems.

Bob McCourt, group director of engineering, said: "We have a track record of continued investment in technology to ensure that our facilities are top class so that our production staff have every facility necessary to maintain our position as the most viewed station in Northern Ireland."
