Co Tyrone family firm Go Power seals £58m deal to supply electricity to NI Water
A Co Tyrone family-run power firm has landed a £58m deal to supply electricity to NI Water - the largest consumer of power here.
Go Power will supply electricity to Northern Ireland's largest consumer of electricity over the next two years.
The firm, which is part of the overall LCC Group, already has around 20% market share within the Northern Ireland energy market.
It supplies to business customers, but has intentions to begin selling into Northern Ireland's domestic market.
Its managing director Michael Loughran said he "looked forward to working closely with NI Water" to deliver a "first class energy product".
It's understood the latest deal for the firm makes it the biggest supplier of power to large energy consumers in Northern Ireland.
The company is enjoying a period of continuous growth within its gas and electricity provision. It is also continuing to grow its 'Go' brand of petrol stations, with more than 35 stations across Ireland.
Go Power, which supplies electricity exclusively to the business market, boasts some of Northern Ireland's biggest companies and government contracts including, Bombardier, Fane Valley, Moy Park, SDC Trailers and Northern Ireland's 'super councils'.
The company has recently extended its workforce in order to maintain its high standard of service provision.
