Belfast author Anna Burns shortlisted for prestigious book award
Belfast-born author Anna Burns' novel Milkman is in the running for this year's Women's Prize For Fiction.
There are 16 novels on the longlist, including seven debut novels.
Last year, Burns became the first author from Northern Ireland to win the prestigious Man Booker Prize for a tale of sexual coercion set in the Troubles.
The Women's Prize For Fiction is awarded for the best full-length novel of the year, written by a woman and published in the UK by any woman writing in English whatever her nationality or country of residence.
The shortlist is announced on April 29 and the winner on June 5.
