Book on Ulster Rugby's 1999 European Cup win through to awards shortlist
A book recounting the story of Ulster Rugby's 1999 European Cup triumph is in the running for a prestigious award.
The Last Amateurs, by Belfast Telegraph journalist Jonathan Bradley, has been shortlisted for the Heineken Rugby Book of the Year at the Telegraph Sports Book Awards.
The shortlist also features an autobiography by Ian Robertson, the radio voice of BBC rugby for many years, Peter Bills' book about the iconic All Blacks, and Doddie Weir's autobiography.
Published last year, The Last Amateurs tells the story of Ulster's 14-month journey from a record-breaking 56-3 defeat to Wasps to becoming the first European champions from Ireland.
